Meet our Staff

Carlos Carrasco, Owner

A 2005 graduate of Los Lunas High School, Carlos then continued his playing career at El Paso Community College. From there he returned home to his community to become the first head baseball coach at Valencia High School where he lead the Jaguars for 12 years.  In his time at VHS, Coach Carrasco has sent many players to the next level and his coaching tree includes high school and collegiate coaches. Now that he has moved on from his duties at VHS, he will be devoting his time to developing baseball and softball players in Valencia County and beyond.  Carlos is married to his wife Sara and they have two beautiful daughters Lillianna and Alia.  

Jorge Venegas

A 2012 graduate of Valencia High School, Jorge went from VHS to Otero Junior College where he pitched for the Rattlers for two seasons. From there he went to RMAC power Colorado State University Pueblo where he was a closer for the Thunderwolves.  Since 2017 Jorge has been the pitching coach at Valencia High School under Coach Carrasco. Jorge focuses primarily on developing pitchers and infielders.

Michaela Kittredge

A 2018 graduate of Valencia High School, Michaela continued her softball career at Central Arizona College. She is currently furthering her education at the University of New Mexico to work towards with plans to attend medical school. Michaela was a utility on the field so she is able to work with infielders, outfielders and hitters.

Carlos Ramirez

A graduate of Valencia High School, Carlos continued his career at Otero Junior College. From there he furthered his education and baseball career at New Mexico Highalnds University, playing two years for the Cowboys.  He is now the Assistant Coach for Otero Junior College. When not in Colorado, Carlos trains hitters at The Grind

Marcos Castillo

A 2001 graduate of Los Lunas High School, Marcos played for New Mexico Junior College and Trinidad State Junior College before playing his last two years at New Mexico Highlands University.  He will be assisting The Grind with the construction and maintenance of the website as well as marketing.
